Training Strategy: Enabling CAM 2035
At Silvera we believe that technician competence is the conversion mechanism between technological possibility and safe commercial reality.
In 2026, we published a workforce development white paper for government, industry and regulators: Enabling CAM 2035.
Setting out why technician capability should be treated as critical infrastructure, it presents our vision for a national workforce architecture for the safe and scalable deployment of connected and automated mobility.
Multiple industry reports and academic research projects have emphasised the necessity of upskilling and role adaptation, yet there has been precious little in terms of practical AV skills development.
As a result, while commercialisation gets ever closer, the UK training system offers no coherent route to progress from Level 3 technical apprenticeship to CAM specialist.
With capability structured across domains rather than legacy occupational silos, our industry-leading AV technical training strategy recognises that automation does not remove the need for human technical skill, it transforms it.
