Coding Course For Young Learners: Auto Brain Gain

Inspired by Silvera CEO Kenneth Clarke’s experience of the GASP Motor Project, giving disadvantaged young people an opportunity to learn skills not available on the school curriculum, Auto Brain Gain teaches basic coding and engineering using pro-level AV R&D tools. Initially aimed at UK Key Stage 2 and 3 (KS2-3) school pupils, this first-of-its-kind course uses small Raspberry Pi-powered cars to introduce kids to self-driving programming. What a way to spark early age CAM interest!

With all the focus on AI and the global Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills shortages, Auto Brain Gain brings jaw-dropping wow factor. Most 7-14 year-olds will never have seen anything like our specially adapted Rumicars, let alone been encouraged to make their own unique changes. As we prove the concept and train more trainers, we’ll develop more advanced courses, grow our online learning community and roll-out programs across the UK and internationally.

You know me as an automotive engineer and future mobility entrepreneur. I’m also from a diverse background with school-age kids. I have a huge passion for STEM mentoring and teaching – giving young people an opportunity to learn skills that they wouldn't be able to access through the school curriculum.
